ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Barbara Sanderman received her CPA certification in 1987 and created a lucrative Finance career, later changing to a Legal career with Quantum Corporation in Irvine, California.  After a significant restructure of the Company, which affected many positions, including hers, she decided to use her extensive finance and legal skills to form a new company, ePaperlessAuditTrail.org. This Company is a green organization, whose mission is to take the world paperless, one company at a time.

Prior to graduating in 1982, Barbara landed a position with a small accounting firm, Smith and Stephens, founded by three seasoned auditors from the, then, Big 8 Accounting firm of Alexander Grant in Los Angeles, California.  She completed her 3 year internship there, before even passing her CPA exam and landing her certificate in 1987.

After getting her CPA, Barbara moved back to private accounting and held a variety of positions in a variety of industries.  In 1996, she landed her dream job with Seagate Technology in Scotts Valley, California, which took her from being a seasoned accountant into the world of Finance.  This is where she began to formulate a plan to take the world paperless.  Barbara was responsible for the Company’s Weekly Revenue Report and took the entire process completely paperless on a go forward basis.  This got her noticed by Executive Management, because they were able to view much needed information from home on Saturday by Noon, instead of at work at the end of the day on Monday.  Executive Management valued her as a key employee, because they could make the necessary decisions to meet market demands in a more timely manner.

Seagate offered her a position in Strategic Financial Planning, working on an Outsourcing Agreement for their Netherlands manufacturing and distribution center.  This was her introduction into the Legal field, andshe loved it so much more than Finance or Accounting.  After completing the project, Barbara was transferred to a position in the sales department, where she drafted and negotiated customer contracts.  She was so organized during due diligence for the merger with Quantum, that she was able to produce all of the current contracts to Quantum Legal in two days, working around the clock.  They were so impressed that they hired her in the Legal Department as a Contracts Administrator.

During her time as Contracts Administrator, Barbara continued her endeavor to take the world paperless.  She reviewed all of the storage records for one site and destroyed 3,500 boxes/85% of the records, which had passed their retention requirements.  During the consolidation of Quantum’s Irvine and Costa Mesa facilities in California, Barbara was able to keep from storing a good deal of the records left behind.  Once she was moved to the Irvine facility, Barbara was able to take the entire facility paperless by analyzing workflow of the different departments, including Sales & Marketing, Engineering, Human Resources, Purchasing, Finance and Legal.  Using the system and a temp for shredding and scanning, Barbara was able to take the site 100% paperless.

Barbara was working on taking the entire company paperless, when Quantum eliminated her position.  She had analyzed the records for 10,000 boxes for the rest of the company and had determined, again, that 85% had passed the retention requirements.  This is her only regret, that she couldn’t finish the job.  That is why Barbara has decided to start her own Company, ePaperlessAuditTrail.org, and her mission is to take the world paperless, one company at a time.
